Wedding Party "Bride's Side"
McKenzie Williams
Kenzie has known me since I was born! Although she was always the older, cooler cousin, she took time to include me in things and has been there through everything with me, if even at a distance. She is my longest-running friend and it’s a good feeling knowing that no matter what, she’ll always be there. Kenzie continually surprises me with her laid-back nature in every situation and her joy of motherhood (not to mention the cutest children ever!) I am excited to have her as one of my bridesmaids and can’t wait to see how the little ones have grown!
Dawn McMillan
D-Mac and I met on my very first day of High School. McMillan sat behind McKenzie in our homeroom class. (Did I have luck with seating arrangements or what?) – Although we didn’t know it at the time I would pretty much insert myself into her family as I accompanied them to Colorado and to countless trips to softball practice. Although I wasn’t much of a softball player, the years of practice meant that I had years to spend with D-Mac and her family. We made it through break-ups and dating those darn first-basemen. She has inspired me in my faith more than she will ever know!
Danielle Cook Flake
Danielle and I met because she was dating Shawn’s roommate Mike, when we first started dating! We went with the boys on snowboarding trips, weddings, and numerous double-dates and became fast friends! When Mike and Danielle moved to Greensboro I was sure we wouldn’t be able to see them much after that but I got into graduate school in Greensboro and fate brought us all back together! Danielle is one of the most selfless people I know and she knows how to bustle a wedding dress, both are reasons that I’m looking forward to have her at my wedding!
Dawn Maynard Battise
Dawn and I first met in 7th grade. I sat behind her (McKenzie came right after Maynard!) and needless to say I wasn’t the nicest middle schooler – I threw erasers in her hair! In my defense I was actually aiming for Mr. Miller (who was sleeping) and ended up hitting her. Dawn and I look back and laugh at things now and I am forever grateful to have had her as a friend for the last 10 years. She has taught me patience and has helped me to truly value my faith and I am forever grateful! – Perry
MADE OF HONOR: Jamie Trogdon
Jamie and I met in 3rd grade, but really became best friends as Juniors in High School. With all of the changes that came with moving away and going to college, Jamie and I were able to experience them together. As roommates at ECU, Jamie and I made it through countless hours of studying, a fire in our dormitory, and each other. She even helped me pick out the outfit I wore to my first date with Shawn! I will forever credit Jamie with helping to shape who I am as a person. She has taught me what it means to be an independent woman, a lesson that I remember every day. I have known she would be my Maid of Honor since High School and I am thrilled to see that dream come to fruition!
